The toolbar shows the current site’s favicon

The mark at the top-left of the toolbar is now the favicon of whatever site you are previewing, so you can tell at a glance which site is loaded. Sites without a favicon show a neutral globe. The About window now carries the new Vesper Mosaic app icon.

A new app icon. Vesper Mosaic now wears the refreshed Vesper mark on its own product tile, matching the rest of the suite. No functional changes.

The About window really does show your version now

The fix in beta.3 did not take. Choosing Vesper Mosaic → About Vesper Mosaic still reported 0.1.0. It now shows the version you are running.

The About window shows the version you are actually running

Choosing Vesper Mosaic → About Vesper Mosaic reported 0.1.0 on every build since the first internal one, no matter which version was installed. It now shows the running version, matching Vesper Orbit and Vesper Audit.

Updates only ever move forward, and installing is now something you do.

Mosaic will not install an older version

If the update feed offers a version older than, or the same as, the one you are running, Mosaic declines it and tells you why. The same check runs against any update already downloaded and waiting, so a package sitting in the cache can never roll you backwards.

A restart banner, and updates that wait for you

When an update finishes downloading, a slim banner appears at the top of the window with a Restart now button. Updates no longer apply themselves in the background - Mosaic holds the download until you choose to restart. Full detail in Auto-Updates.

First public beta of Vesper Mosaic. A new tool in the Vesper suite that loads any URL into three side-by-side panes at mobile, desktop, and tablet widths simultaneously - scrolled and clicked in sync.

This is the first public beta. The core feature set is complete and stable. We're releasing it now to gather real-world feedback before the 1.0.0 release.

Three synced viewports

Load any URL and instantly see it at Mobile (390 x 844), Desktop (1920 x 1080), and Tablet (768 x 1024). All three panes share a single session - log in once and all three are logged in.

Fit and 100% view modes

Fit mode (Cmd+1) scales all three panes to fill your screen so you can see everything at once. 100% mode (Cmd+2) shows each pane at its native pixel width, with horizontal scrolling to pan across them.

Scroll and navigation sync

Scroll in any pane and the other two follow, anchored to the same DOM element with a percentage fallback. Click a link and all three panes navigate together. Back and forward buttons step through navigation history across all panes simultaneously.

Purge cache

One click clears the shared HTTP cache and reloads all three panes - useful when you need to verify you're seeing fresh assets.

Known limitations
