Sharing Color Pairs
Every color pair in Vesper Colors has a unique shareable link. Sharing a pair gives the recipient a direct link that opens Vesper Colors with your exact foreground and background colors pre-loaded - no account, no copy-paste, no manual entry.
How to share
Tap or click the Share this pair button. It appears in two places:
- In the Check view, below the WCAG badges
- At the bottom of the Preview tab
On iOS, tapping Share opens the native iOS share sheet. You can send the link via Messages, Mail, AirDrop, copy it to the clipboard, or share it through any app in your share sheet.
On the web, clicking Share copies the link to your clipboard. The button label changes to Link copied! briefly to confirm.
What the link contains
The shareable link is a standard URL with the two hex color values as query parameters:
https://vesperapps.com/colors/?fg=RRGGBB&bg=RRGGBB
For example, a pair of white text (FFFFFF) on a dark navy background (101420) produces:
https://vesperapps.com/colors/?fg=FFFFFF&bg=101420
The link contains only the hex values - no personal information, no account data, no usage data of any kind.
Opening a shared link
When you open a share link, Vesper Colors loads with the foreground and background colors from the URL pre-filled. The contrast ratio and WCAG results calculate immediately. You can then adjust the colors, switch to the Preview tab, or share the link again.
On iOS, share links open in the Vesper Colors app if it is installed, or in the browser otherwise.
Using share links in your workflow
Share links are useful for:
- Design handoff - share a specific pair with a developer or QA reviewer so they can verify the contrast themselves
- Client feedback - send a pair to a client so they can see the contrast ratio and WCAG results without needing any tools installed
- Documentation - include share links in design specs, accessibility audits, or pattern libraries as a live reference for approved color combinations
- Quick bookmarking - save a pair by bookmarking its URL in your browser
